Assuming your drawing is in the same units as your dimensions you can just set the length of the dimension line numerically in the geometry inspector (Window > Geometry). You’ll have to open the full inspector using the disclosure triangle in the lower right corner. The length field is a triangle between two vertical lines (in mathematical terms the magnitude of the delta values).

I really enjoy the Dimension tool, but I need to know if there is a way
to calm it down a bit. I generally use feet and inches, so I have it set
for “no fractions”. (Many times I am at 1” =3D 20’, for example.)

As such, my dimensions are usually in even numbers of feet =AD rarely feet an=
d
some inches. What I cannot accomplish is getting the Dimension tool to stop
at,=20
say, exactly 12’. I usually get either 11’ 11” or 12’ 3”. I can get to that
elusive 12’=20
but only when blowing up the drawing to 800%. Unfortunately, at 800% I
cannot=20
read the dimension as the number portion of the line is off the screen.

I am using an 800 DPI optical mouse (Logitech, MX-700) so mouse optical
scanning=20
quality should not be the issue.

Is there any way to address this? I could not locate this in the manual or
forums.

Thanks in advance for your help.
