portrait or landscape page setup at start-up in prefs
Is there anyway of being able to add a preference for portrait or landscape page setup when starting a new project. Having to switch every time I turn on Intaglio, is very frustrating.
One workaround would be to create a landscape document and double click on IT instead of Intaglio when you want to launch it. Make it “read only” via the Finder and you won’t have to worry about saving over it either.
Yes I know, but I tend to look for the Intaglio Icon in the dock, and not a document icon.

Go to page setup, choose a landscape page, and choose “Save As Default” from the “Settings” popup.

This isn’t really a workaround, it’s a system feature available to any application. A basic design philosophy behind Intaglio is to not “reinvent the wheel” when it can be avoided. Since the Mac OS includes this feature for free it’s hard to justify developing a special custom way to do the same thing in Intaglio.
That same concept is behind the use of stationary from the Finder rather than some custom template mechanism (as discussed recently in another thread). When the system provides a function, albeit perhaps not in the exact form people might wish for, it’s hard to take time away from other possible new features to reinvent it.
I know, but the first time I used this (several years back) it didn’t work. You’ve fixed it then?

It worked for me just now when I tried it.
Templates work here, but when a template is opened, it’s always dropped down 1/2” from the top of the screen and the bottom of the document disappears off the bottom of the screen. I moved the window up 1/2”, changed the contents of the template and saved the changes, but it’s still dropped down.
Any ideas?
