Doesn't LightWindow beat all the others?

I haven’t seen this one discussed yet in the forum but it looks awesome: http://www.stickmanlabs.com/lightwindow/ What would be the easiest way to implement this in FW websites? Note that with this one you are not limitted to pictures!

OK, you got a point here :-) Are we talking about 100% same options here?

No, I had to cut many many features out — particularly the automatic gallery stuff — so no it’s not exactly the same. But I use it because it supports linking to most types of content without any fuss. It simply handles more media types than most other windowing toolkits.

At some point I hope to go through the library again and see if I can wire up more of the features. There are also some architectural changes that really ought to be done to the library itself. It requires invalid code if you want to take advantage of its parameter passing system, and I would prefer that we used an actual part of the A tag spec rather than creating a fake parameters attribute. Tim Plumb shared a snippet of AppleScript that could be used to make certain parts of the system more automatic.

The other thing to realize here is that LightWindow has been abandoned by its creator, and there are a number of reports surfacing about it being incompatible with IE8, and there’s certainly a problem with IE 6, although I do have a patch in there to work around that.

Hmmm… great stuff though, however if the creator is not quite happy yet than we might wel wait untill things get better?!

I think it’s not so much that the author is unhappy, it’s just that he’s moved on to other things. The last update was in 2007, and he’s moved to two different companies and kind of lost the scent of the original project. It’s open source, anyone can (and should) pick it up and move it forward, but I don’t see any progress toward that at the moment.

I see. Thanks. In a way ScriptyLightBox can do a lot… we’ll stick to that for now :-)
