SVG export
Just downloaded demo version to play with. Nice program. However, I’ve noticed that export to SVG doesn’t work, corresponding menu item is inactive. Is it specific feature of demo version? Have anybody used SVG files exported from Intaglio? Any comments? Can browsers like Firefox read it?

I just did a drawing, SAVED AS svg and opened it in Amaya. (Don’t know what you mean by export.)
Two years ago, I saved the graphics of a book as SVG to be compliant with the GNU FDL license. Did hundreds of them, and I just checked, both Intaglio 3.0.1 and Amaya open them.
So, as far as I can see, there is nothing wrong.
But then I don’t know about the demo version.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’ve meant. I think that the inability to SAVE AS SVG should be the limitation of demo.

Thank you for information.
BTW, I’ve noticed that version 3.0.1 dates back to year 2008. Does the development continue? I really like this product, especially after I’ve seen samples created with it.

Looks like it.

I think so but I really wouldn’t know. For a variety of reasons, I am always at least one system behind, etc. E.g. right now, I am running gwtex under 10.4.11 (even though gwtex hasn’t been supported for a couple of years.)
Beyond that, there is always the danger of “featuritis”: A wants x, B wants y, etc and before you know it nobody can handle the application.
I really like this product, especially after I’ve seen samples created with it.
I used to use Canvas and, er, wasn’t entirely won over. (I was taken to task for saying I had hated every second of it so I won’t say it anymore.)
Sure, there are things that annoy me with Intaglio. For instance, you can resize arrowheads only for the whole drawing, that is you cannot have little arrowheads and big arrowheads in the same drawing unless you make them yourself and store them in the library from where they can be re-used. There are other things like that, like why Cmd shift i for italics when, say, TextEdit uses Cmd i? Above all, the one problem is that the documentation is organized in a rather idiosyncratic way. But, eventually, you end up finding what you need. So, yes, it’s far from perfect. But I have never had any real complaint with Intaglio.
In fact far from it. I find it really comfortable to work with and it can do a lot. But then I am not a professional illustrator either.
Altogether, I am quite happy with Intaglio and am not about to look for anything else any time soon.
