Get dimensions from SWF or MOV?

Is there a way through the Actions API to get the dimensions of a SWF or MOV file directly? Note that I’m not talking about reading the on-screen dimensions from a movie you’ve placed on a page, but rather if you select such a file from the <action-file> interface. I need to access the dimension that the movie has set internally, and I have no idea where to begin looking. I am thinking I would need a fwFile reference to the file, then start reading the bytestream and search for … some parameter.

Does anyone know the internals of these file types? Any suggestions where to begin looking?
