Content sharing
I need to create a website for the purposes of sharing: - Photos - Video - Files (pdf’s and such)
What’s the most bestest way to do this?
Thanks

1 Sep 2010, 1:22 pmWell - I can’t tell you the “best way” to do but what I do:
Inline Boxmodel
and
WebYep CMS (with Max Fancorts ActionSuite).
Boxmodel is not necessary, but helpful. So if I want to add a new file I do this via WebYep in the browser. It sounds complicated, but once proper set your Freeway-File, you’re independent of it and just update it “quick and dirty”. Even I can add new instances of predifened pages.
An example could be one of my page here:
http://www.kimmich-dm.de/blogging/disqus-follow.php?DOC_INST=13
where I added a screencast and a freeway-file as zip. But you can also add pdfs or whatever you want.
Just my way of working.

Thanks for the reply, but I don’t see anything on your link that pertains to my need? Perhaps I’m missing it?

1 Sep 2010, 8:55 pmsharing content, download content - that’s what I thought you want to do. Things like “Download this” or “Download that”.
Your do I miss something? Or the other way:
Could you point an example page that can inspire us to clarify your needs?
Don’t want to point into wrong directions.

I thought you had a screen cast showing me how to do what I was wanting to do….. :-)
Yes, you have it right, I want to upload for people to view / download info, just like your site has.
I’ve never heard of the Boxmodel or WebYep before, so I’ll need to look into that.
Thanks

1 Sep 2010, 9:20 pmHi Tony,
… not really - there are some actions (as I remember cause I don’t use them often) like “download pdf’s” and I’m sure, there are more of them available.
The Boxmodel is a bit an extended project and webyep is just a cms.
So don’t mind on them more than necessary.
You asked for the best way, I answered with a one goable and I’m sure there are plenties of them.
But an inspiration like a link is mostly recommended on every question “How to do”.
Cheers

1 Sep 2010, 9:25 pmforgot to say:
load a .mov into an html object, apply two actions and you can show the file direct in your page.
Load a movie into you tube and just insert it into your page using one simple action.
So loads of poss. to do.
