3 Sep 2010, 3:47 amAre you talking about hyperlink text being underlined? Did you watch the screencast on my site on Styling Hyperlinks?

3 Sep 2010, 4:07 amThx Dan I was about to watch this tomorrow so I will do it now and yes I am talking about the text html underline. Thx be well
I am still trying to figure out what relative page layout really is. I attached it to a page and there is an error. I have all items as layers well I know i will figure it out eventually

3 Sep 2010, 8:47 amThis might help a bit.
Think of relative page layouts as a way to organize your web site or web page in such a way that items within it count on, relate, or depend on other elements on the page to keep the design together. Speaking from a purely layout standpoint.
Meaning that if I wanted to build a website that would be flexible in its layout, I would need to count on each part of the design to be able to adjust based off the amount of content that existed in relation to other items on the page. Whether that amount was known or not you would have to depend on that HTML item to expand to fill that content and then you as the designer would understand how this now filled item relates in size and scale to other items on the page.
Seems prophetic there (or pathetic depending on who you walk too), but really relative layouts are just how HTML items affect other items within a design and it’s a layout type often called the inline box-model.

3 Sep 2010, 1:53 pmDan thx for the text style info worked perfectly of course. i remember doing that months ago but forgot. and thanks for explanation of RPL….. I did try to create one and there was an error message. Maybe the site has to publish first. I will do that down the road because we are in just the design phase. So my question is. do I go back an make my other sites RPL. There are many items on pages that are not layers. What do you think. thx to all the teachers! C

3 Sep 2010, 4:50 pmUsing the RPL Action in Freeway isn’t necessary unless you feel that you need it. Meaning that it is nice to use, but isn’t perfect for every situation as it doesn’t always produce a 1:1 result.

3 Sep 2010, 4:57 pmThx ok well I would not have a clue if I needed RPL or not. ah well I upgrade to 5.5 anyway. Showcase app was not as flexible as I would have liked as I can create a cleaner slideshow with Freeway. but I assume its best to keep everything updated thx

3 Sep 2010, 9:37 pmIf you have a page that when you view it in a browser and enlarge the text your text boxes overlap - thats when you need the RPL action!
In Safari go to the View menu - check the Zoom Text Only option and then visit one of your sites.
Apple + to increase the text size. Are boxes overlapping?

3 Sep 2010, 9:45 pmThx Dan
Ok I did the zoom and the page did not zoom at all. if I go to other sites the zoom works. so this means that I do not need RPL.. there is normally very limited text on my websites anyway
DeltaDave
3 Sep 2010, 9:57 pmthe page did not zoom at all
Knowing you Carla you use a LOT of graphic text - which doesn’t suffer from this (or be search engine friendly!)

3 Sep 2010, 10:22 pmHa Ok Dave go easy, this was some learning curve for me. Freeway always taught me that text could also graphic boxes. Thanks to you I have learned this is not the best choice… I just tried the zoom and it works so yes I will ad RPL on text pages and see how that goes

3 Sep 2010, 10:47 pmupdate! I just made one of my pages RPL, and all the graphic & HTML boxes are all out of whack. I suppose this is not normal.
Carla
3 Sep 2010, 10:53 pmregarding RPL my guess is the only way t can work is if all boxes on page be HTML.. many of mine are a mix and right now I am in a mess of a state
