Screengrab to QT movie window?

I’m setting up a site where one page contains screengrabs of 30 sec movie files. I want to be able to click on the screengrab and it open to the QuickTime mpeg - either in the same window or a new window.

I can do pic to new window with the action, but pic to new QT movie? I’m scratching my head on this one.

Can anyone please help me out?

[Btw, I’m using FW 4.3 Pro]

Thanks guys,

I’ve looked at Walt’s description, and have to assume I must be stupid, as I can’t figure out how to create the single frame in ImageReady and add the extra 16px [I use CS2].

Is there anywhere I can go online for a tutorial on how to create the first stage of Walt’s technique?

Thanks for the response to you both by the way…!

They moved this in CS and CS2, it’s hiding in plain sight under the File > Export > Original Document dialog. Choose the QuickTime Movie option from the Format picker at the bottom of the dialog.

Got it Walt…. thanks! It works - except for the auto playing part.

When is it supposed to auto-play? The poster frame is one frame long, so it can "play" if it wants to, but there’s nothing really to see except that one frame.

The full movie will start playing as soon as enough data has downloaded to make the plug-in feel confident it can finish without stuttering. If you’re gauging this by my server, realize that’s on the wrong end of a DSL line, and the video file is 14MB or so. Try this out with a small movie somewhere local, and you should see the movie start as soon as you click.

I checked the properties of the "To See The Stars" movie on my page, and none of the auto-start stuff is set in the movie itself. I believe that the plug-in is in charge in this setup.
